Recipient of Federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Grant
Dr. Woojin Jung’s latest project, “Developing High-Resolution Vulnerability Index to Improve Community Resilience in New Jersey,” has been selected as the recipient of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/ New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) grant ($201,545, including matching, 2026-2028). This is a notable achievement for Dr. Jung and her team’s first federal grant award. The funding will advance New Jersey's efforts to collect actionable data on long-term climate resilience, supporting innovative research and meaningful community impact. We extend our sincere appreciation to the NOAA Office for Coastal Management and the NJSGC for their support in this important work.
Recipient of Morris Animal Foundation Data Grant
A granular spatio-temporal gr data set from Morris Animal Foundation will support Dr. Jung’s work on “Poverty, Environment and Canine Health: A Spatial One Health Analysis Using the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study.” The project brings together Morris Animal Foundation and Dr. Jung’s research lab to address the socioeconomic, environmental, and geographic risk factors for cancer and infectious diseases in dogs. We are grateful to Morris Animal Foundation[WJ1] for supporting this important initiative and look forward to advancing the project’s goals ahead.
Recipient of National Science Foundation (NSF) Access Program
Dr. Woojin Jung has received funding through the National Science Foundation (NSF) Access Program to advance research on “Leveraging AI/ML in Poverty Targeting & Social Safety Net Programs.” The program provided Dr. Jung with 2,000 GPUs (Graphics Processing Units), computational capacity for cutting-edge research. We thank the National Science Foundation for its investment in innovation and its support of transformative research.
